Debbie Therien
Debbie is a teacher who has taught a wide-range of people with special needs – like young students in need of tutoring, young adults working toward their GED, deaf children, and immigrants learning English.
She attained her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and her secondary education teaching licensure from the University of St. Thomas. She is a certified “transliterator” - someone who through lip and hand formations interprets the exact words and sounds being presented to deaf and hard of hearing children, which whom she worked for nearly a decade. She is a cert ified ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher for Adults, and is currently applying her talents to the immigrant populations in the South Metro area of the Twin Cit ies.
Debbie is a musician who sings and plays the hand-drums and bass guitar. She is also is an artist who has created beautiful and inspiring abstract imagery.
VINCE THERRIEN
Vince is a Leadership Development and Change Manager at the City of Minneapolis. He is also Principal Consultant at Therrien Consulting, LLC. He designs, develops and delivers solutions that help employees navigate through significant corporate change, improve leadership and employee effectiveness competencies, and strengthen organizational performance. Prior to beginning his his work at the City and with Therrien Consulting, he spent over 15 years in various leadership roles in the financial services industry (primarily at Voya Financial) and over 14 years doing talent and organizational development consulting (primarily at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota.)
He attained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul Minnesota, where he studied Music and Business. He attained his Masters of Arts in Human Development degree from St. Mary’s University in Minneapolis Minnesota, with concentrated studies in ethical business culture and human resilience.
In addition to his business consulting work, Vince is a singer, songwriter, pianist and music director who has performed at countless weddings, religious services and special events over many years throughout the Twin Cities area. He had produced musical recordings of his talented family, and music videos of his daughter, Jeanine. He is also a wedding officiant in the State of Minnesota, having officiated at weddings for friends and family.
